The Shamwari Founders Lodge nestles on 1000 acres of picturesque private land which forms part of the greater Shamwari area. The character-filled old farmhouse offers breath-taking views of the cliffs, valleys and sprawling natural bushveld. Guests enjoy spectacular walks and bird-watching experiences on offer together with BIG 5 safari drives in the Shamwari Private Game Reserve.

Founders Lodge is a beautiful 1940’s manor house, which had been the Gardiner family’s holiday home for 21 years. It has been newly restored to welcome guests in elegant 5-star comfort. The lodge is geared towards individual, tailor-made adventures.
This lodge offers 6 Luxury Double & Twin Suites, all of which are refurbished around an open patio. 4 Modern Suites lead from the courtyard, while the 2 Traditional Suites are in the primary residence. The various common spaces and guest amenities are all available from the Suites and Patio. All rooms feature a private veranda, offering breathtaking views of the cliffs, valleys and sprawling natural bushveld.
The lodge is only 45 min drive from the Port Elizabeth Airport, in the malaria-free Eastern Cape Province.
